Spring is one of the best times of the year to live and play in Grant Park. It’s time to get outside and soak it all in! From bike tours to local chef demos, here are five upcoming events in Grant Park that you won’t want to miss.

Grant Park Patio Gardening Class

When: Saturday, May 5 9:00am-10:30am

Where: Garden Hood Atlanta (353 Boulevard SE)

What: Our favorite locally-owned, independent nursery wants to help you add some green to your patio space. This class will help you assess light conditions, plan the best way to utilize your space, and help you master all things plant management.

Local, Wild, & Raw | Curiosity Club

When: Wednesday, May 16, 6:30PM-8:30PM

Where: Eventide Brewing (1015 Grant Street Southeast)

What: Join your community and local chef, Mercedes Melendez, to learn about the benefits and possibilities of plant-based eating. You’ll walk away with a game plan of how to incorporate local, wild, and raw ingredients into your diet. The best part? All proceeds go directly to The Homstead Atlanta.

Southside Trail Bike Tour

When: Sunday, May 6 10am-2pm

Where: Kroger Fuel Center (880 Glenwood Ave SE)

What: Curious to learn more about the future Atlanta BeltLine Southside Trail? Urban Explorers of Atlanta are leading an 18-mile (4 hour) bike tour to uncover the “missing link” between the Eastside and Westside trails. Learn about the future trail’s design and development and wrap up your day with a cold beer at Monday Night Garage.

Music in the Meadow

When: Thursday, June 7 6:00pm-7:30pm

Where: Grant Park (840 Cherokee Ave SE)

What: Grant Park Parents Network will be hosting a first Thursday of the month summer music series in and around Grant Park. Pack a picnic or pick up a to-go order from one of Grant Park’s delicious restaurants and get ready to mix and mingle with the neighborhood.

Grant Park Summer Shade Festival

When: August 25 10:00am-10:00pm & August 26 11:00am-7:30pm

Where: Grant Park (840 Cherokee Ave SE)

What: Mark your calendars for the 16th annual Grant Park Summer Shade Festival. Locals gather in Atlanta’s oldest city park to bid summer adieu and celebrate the steamy season. Perfect for art and music lovers, this event is a Grant Park staple and helps raise funds for the Grant Park Conservancy. Burnett Grant Park residents should plan on riding their bikes to the festival–Atlanta Bicycle Coalition will valet it for free!
